New Policy on Core: Use of Artificial Intelligence Policy

FPM are proud to announce that users of our market-leading compliance software FPM Core can now access a new policy to help them navigate the introduction and use of Artificial Intelligence tools in their practice.

Our library of policies and procedures is written by our team of external primary care experts and practice managers. The new AI Policy and Guide covers this fast-changing area of practice, one which many staff and patients have questions about. In particular, it explains:

  • The difference and relationship between Medical Devices, Software as a Medical Device, AI as a Medical Device and Machine Learning enabled Medical Devices.
  • The risks of AI and how to control them, including the risk of ‘AI bias’
  • What does good look like?
  • How and where to escalate concerns if they arise over AI
  • A sample Statement for Privacy Policy on the use of AI
  • A simplified patient facing statement (for poster, practice leaflet or website)
  • A helpful glossary of key terms

Products and regulations are changing constantly so practices should always adapt policies to suite their needs, and check advice on best practice and products before implementing.
