The Apprentice: Learning to Last a Lifetime

The theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2024 is “Skills for Life”, and the aim is to celebrate the value, benefit and opportunity that apprenticeships bring.

Apprenticeships combine practical training in a paid job with study, enabling apprentices to gain skills and qualifications which last them a lifetime. Here at Thornfields (part of FPM) we’ve long understood the importance of apprenticeships for you, our clients, which is why last year we created an innovative new partnership. We’ve teamed up with leadership and performance management specialists Cherith Simmons to offer a variety of apprenticeships to advance your professional development.

The best thing? They are all up to 100% government-funded, and Cherith Simmons are experts at accessing that government funding! It exists because HMRC operate a levy scheme on larger companies which deducts 0.5% of annual payroll above £3 million.

If you’re a senior leader, perhaps you’ll choose a post-graduate level 7 apprenticeship, designed for those who shape strategy in their organisation.

On the other hand, perhaps you’re an operational or middle manager in your organisation? Then the Level 5 Qualifications in Operational Leadership is for you. You’ll improve skills, knowledge and behaviours through work-based projects.

And if you’re a professional who wants to benchmark or improve your essential leadership and management skills, why not sign up for our Level 3 Leadership and Management Qualification? Accredited by ILM (the UK’s largest awarding body for management qualifications and part of City & Guilds) at level 3, these open-access programmes enable existing or aspiring managers and supervisors to gain a qualification via our online virtual workshop programmes.

Remember, by doing an Apprenticeship from Thornfields / Cherith Simmons you’ll enjoy these benefits:

  • A minimum of 95% is government-funded
  • Delivery is supported by our world class Learning Management System
  • ILM/City & Guilds/Ofsted/ESFA approved
  • Bite-sized progressive assessment – complete as you go
  • Classes are delivered virtually (please contact us to discuss face-to-face options).
