Job Description

St Albans & Harpenden GP Federation are looking to recruit a Business Manager to support the Board to take the Federation into the next stage of its development.

The Business Manager role is an integral post, leading an expanding new team of colleagues, supporting 11 member practices and the Primary Care Networks across the locality of St Albans & Harpenden.

You will be responsible for all day-to-day management decisions of the Federation and for the implementation of the Federations strategic and operational objectives. You will act as a direct liaison between the Board of Directors, the Management Team and the Federations Membership. You will be proactive in the development and management of the relationships with PCNs and able to influence and support senior colleagues in a complex, fast moving environment.

Main duties of the job

You will have a background in Primary Care at a senior level with strong project management and people management skills. You will be able to communicate and influence a wide range of stakeholders and work with a multi disciplinary team. You will be able to communicate the creative vision and strategy with strong project management skills.

You will develop a viable and sustainable business model and ensure St Albans & Harpenden GP Federation meets its statutory, contractual and service obligations.

With support of the Board of Directors, you will hold corporate responsibility for:

  • Setting STAHFEDs strategic priorities
  • Achievement of agreed objectives
  • Compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements
  • Achievement of a financially viable, sustainable business model

 

About us

STAHFED is a GP Federation of 11 member practices across St Albans & Harpenden with a combined list size of almost 160,000. We are governed by an elected board of directors, with whom you will meet with regularly and will report into the Chair of the board. In response to our growing portfolio of work, our team is expanding and we currently have a team of 7 part time support staff, with further growth planned.
