Practice Manager – Howdale Surgery, Downham Market, Norfolk

Permanent - Salary - £45,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated Practice Manager with strategic vision.

Candidates must be enthusiastic, conscientious, have proven leadership skills, backed by a robust knowledge of business management, a strong financial acumen and strategic planning skills.

Howdale Group Practice is an established and patient centred practice in West Norfolk, looking after 7500 patients. We are a GMS practice involved in Medical Students and GP registrar training.

The successful candidate will have business experience and be able to demonstrate effective people management and leadership. You will also have experience of responding to patient feedback, have sound regulatory and compliance knowledge and be able to manage practice-based projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth running of the practice including business planning, patient services, compliance, IT development, finance, and delivery of key targets across the full range of clinical and administrative areas. Experience of project management and delivering new business initiatives is desirable in this role.

Working alongside the Partners and supported by an excellent administrative and clinical team you will be responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of the practice. You will also have the vision, willingness and drive to adapt and lead the practice into the new world of Primary Care Networks and Integrated Care systems.

Previous experience of managing accounts and HR is essential, as well as experience of working closely with external stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.

The successful applicant will support the partners and staff in the delivery and planning of excellent patient care. They will also be responsible for the efficient and safe management of the practice, ensuring the wellbeing of the patients and staff. They will lead all aspects of general management, including human resources, finance, health and safety, patient service delivery, risk management and aspects of IT. Previous experience of working in Primary Care is essential.

Downham Market is a small market town in the West Norfolk, and we have purpose-built surgeries in Downham Market and Marham.
