A new protocol has been produced this week on Firearms Licensing, providing guidelines on how to adhere to a new system that is relevant to practices in England, Scotland and Wales. Effective as of the start of this month, the system has been put in place to improve information sharing between GPs and police. The protocol includes useful details on aspects of the legislation including clinical coding and dealing with confidentiality.
Elsewhere, an important wording change has been made to the Equality and Diversity Policy, specifically the section on the Police Act 1997. The layout of the Advance Directives - Desk Aid (Flowchart) has also benefitted from a much cleaner new look as we continue to visually freshen up documents in the FPM policy and procedure library, providing an ever-evolving selection of content for subscribers.
FPM Members can view these changes in the Policies and Procedure Library.
