Legislation Update: Parental Rights

Parental Rights

The EU parental leave directive (2010/18/EU), adopted in March 2010, increases parental leave from three to four months. UK implementation will take place in March 2013. The increase is unlikely to have a major impact on UK businesses however, since statutory parental leave is unpaid and it is relatively uncommon for employees to take it.
