How to make the most of the 30 minute CQC presentation (vlog)

The 30 minute presentation that can be part of practices’ CQC inspections has been a popular topic of conversation and questioning at our last two CQC Roadshows.

This is why First Practice Management (FPM) Group’s newest vlog focuses on the presentation, this time presented by Kate Hodkinson, Training Business Manager.

In this short video, Kate discusses the five questions and the six key population groups and how you can use them in the presentation. She also goes into detail about how to prepare, who should take part and how to make sure you impress the inspectors.

Take a ten minute break, sit back and watch.

We have attached a copy of the PowerPoint presentation that is featured in the vlog so you can download it and keep for future reference.

If you have any questions regarding any of the topics included in the videos and you’re an FPM Member you can email advice@firstpracticemanagement.co.uk.

Don’t forget you can watch the video on our YouTube channel, where you can also see all of the other vlogs we have filmed so far.

The one slide that everyone really should note is No. 15. CQC inspection teams have a wealth of information about the practices they visit so adopt the KISS principle (Keep It Short & Simple). If you are doing well and have a great initiative then say so: if you have had issues and are learning and developing from them then say so and of course if the practice team are really a performing team then say that too ! Please, please do not roll out a lengthy and ultimately unnecessary number of presenters - just a couple or three can be focussed, sharp and succinct. Final tip - don`t gild the lilly! The inspection team listen to what you say and will follow up on them by asking for visible evidence ....and if you cannot back boastful statements up you can be sure they will be back to bite you in the rear when your report is published for the world to read.
