GP Awards 2016: Thornfields Win Education Provider of the Year Award

We’re proud to announce that Thornfields came home with the Education Provider of the Year Award at last week’s prestigious GP Awards at the Lancaster Hotel in London!

The GP Awards are designed to recognise, highlight and reward the hard work and innovation that gets carried out every day in surgeries and by businesses that provide services to practices every day. Practice teams, CCGs and project teams, as well as external suppliers, were nominated for awards in a range of categories.

Charan Sarai and Gerry Devine, Thornfields’ Business Training Managers were both thrilled with the award. Charan said: “I am extremely honoured to be receiving this award, which belongs to the whole team - their effort and dedication has contributed to this joint success. Praise also needs to go to all our delegates who have attended and benefited from a company who are on the cutting edge of product design and delivery."

Gerry added, "For us this is a journey not a destination and so in 2017, with the launch of our ‘Active Signposting’ and ‘Correspondence Management’ programmes, we will continue to promote and enable sustained, empowered delivery in an effort to facilitate an even more positive difference to Primary Care.”

Nigel Praities, editor of Pulse, gave the opening speech of the night, calling it “the biggest and best awards ceremony in the healthcare calendar”. The event was hosted by Dr Phil Hammond, NHS doctor, campaigner, broadcaster and comedian, who also announced the winners.

The event took place on Thursday 24th November and also saw First Practice Management shortlisted for IT Provider of the Year for our website subscription and mobile app, as well as Staffing Agency of the Year for our recruitment service.
