Core hours

The definition of core hours is 08:00 - 18:30 Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays

Calculating the costs of extended opening

There are two calculators to help Practices assess the costs of extended opening in the Members Library:

1. Extended Opening Hours Costs Calculator (staff & premises) - enables Practices to assess the staff and premises costs of opening the surgery for additional hours on weekdays and on Saturdays.

2. Extended Opening Hours Costs Calculator (profit & loss) - provide the profit/loss situation based on the 'list size' and 'rate per patient' variables.

Changing employees' working hours

There is information about changing employees' contracts of employment, and what to do if some employees refuse to agree to the changes, in the Members' section of the website - Members should log in, go to the Site index and click 'Extended opening hours - changing employees' contracts'.
