Northern
Ireland doctors' leader voices concerns over reforms -
the chairman of the British Medical Association in Northern Ireland
has expressed concerns over the future of 'much-needed reforms'
after meeting health minister Michael McGimpsey yesterday. Dr Brian
Patterson said: 'We were exceedingly alarmed when we first learned
of the minister's decision to delay the changes to the NHS proposed
under the review of public administration. 'However, we are even
more concerned because after our meeting we believe that another
18 months at least may well pass before much-needed reforms are
put in place.' Mr McGimpsey has said he will take on board the issues
raised and respond soon.
