Wolstanton Medical Centre,
We are looking for a new manager to replace the present experienced manager who has been with us for over 20 years and is due to retire in March 2019.
We are a suburban practice of 11,300 patients with a team that consists of 4 partners, 7 salaried doctors, 7 nurses (includes 2 Advanced Nurse practitioners and 2 Nurse practitioners), one Physicians Associate and a large team of receptionists and administrative staff. We have been actively involved in training for 20+ years and we currently provide training for GP trainees (registrars), medical students and trainee nurses. Within the locality, there is a strong and supportive network of practice managers.
We strive to deliver the best care we can and pride ourselves in being a well organised practice. Our last CQC inspection rated us as 'outstanding' which reflects the dedication of all the team members from the receptionists to the partners and the high standards we set ourselves. Since July 2017 we have also had the status of Keele University Academic Practice, the first of its kind, which reflects the strong tradition of research and education that has been upheld at the practice for decades. While there is a dedicated Academic Practice Project Manager, we would require our Practice Manager to work closely with the project manager to deliver a consistent and coherent academic and clinical service.
The manager’s job at our practice requires skills in managing finance, team leadership, and appropriately managing and delegating a wide range of responsibilities and tasks to team members. The tasks, projects, work stream and people that have to be managed, requires someone who is able to prioritise and organise their work. We require someone who has the ability to contribute to and continue our practice vision together with a willingness and drive to achieve this in the day to day activity of the practice. The right person may not necessarily have prior healthcare experience.
We would like to hear, in confidence, from anyone who feels they would like to discuss our vacancy.
Full time preferred, job share considered
Salary, Agenda for Change grade 8, point dependent on experience
Closing date for application, midnight 17 August 2018
