Charan Sarai - Practice Manager Adviser

How can you get the best out of your appraisals? (video)

Appraisals are an important task for managers to complete, that’s why the next First Practice Management (FPM) Group vlog focuses on how to undertake them and make sure they’re successful.

In this video Charan Sarai, one of our Practice Manager Advisers, discusses in depth the purpose of appraisals, what preparation you need to conduct, how to get the best out of the meeting and dealing with issues that may arise - amongst other topics.

These chats with your staff can be a great way to find out where they feel they need help to develop and it’s a chance for you to speak about any problems or goals you have. When done correctly, they can be very effective and can help your staff feel supported.

It was mentioned at our recent CQC Roadshow in Derby that 'well-led' was commonly struggled with as part of The Five Key Questions. Having appraisals is a way to make sure your staff are engaged and focussed, which in turn is what CQC inspectors are looking for.
