With a swirling Catherine wheel of negativity seeming to surround the NHS, we think it’s time to fire a rocket into the November night sky and illuminate the brilliant work Primary Care teams do in this country.
At FPM we know all too well how hard our GP Practice teams work to deliver the care the nation needs. That’s why we want to remind all of the primary care teams out there how important they and the work their practices do are to the general public.
A celebration of amazing achievements
When the NHS was established, the intention behind it was to keep the workforce healthy, reduce premature death and allow dignified end-of-life care for everyone. Since its launch, the nation’s life expectancy has risen from 66 for men and 70 for women, to 79 years old for men and 83 years old for women.
In these turbulent times, we’re seeing just how important the NHS is to the public, and how invested they are in its future. Two out of three people actually consider the NHS to be Britain’s Greatest Achievement.
Primary Care - The sparkler at the party!
The GP Partnership model in the UK is fairly unique. Known as the gatekeepers to UK healthcare, our GP model is internationally revered. A display of pride in our NHS
We all know that the NHS and Primary Care are not perfect, but they certainly lighten up our dark skies when we most need it - just like a firework.
The question is, do we do enough to celebrate what we are great at and how do we ensure the pride we feel for our NHS continues for the next 50 years to come? Let us know how you feel in the comments below.
First Practice Management is very proud to support GP practice managers and their teams through the challenges they encounter. We make sure our members can access a suite of up-to-date policy documents to help you stay compliant and share all of the latest news around primary care.
