Certificate in Practice Management

The Certificate in Practice Management has been designed to meet the specific needs of Practice Managers, as well as administrative and secretarial staff with supervisory responsibility and other primary care staff who have a substantial managerial role.

The course is delivered as a part-time programme of three modules taught over a period of nine months.

Modules cover the following key skills areas:

Module 1:        Personal effectiveness

    1. Personal effectiveness
    2. Recruitment, selection and the induction process
    3. Managing the team

Module 2:        Clinical effectiveness
                        2.1 Health and safety
                        2.2 Risk management and clinical governance
                        2.3 Handling complaints and customer care

Module 3:        Organisational effectiveness
                        3.1 Managing change
                        3.2 Business planning and performance management
                        3.3 Financial management

For 2008 courses will be run in Birmingham, Bristol and Leeds, starting in October and completing in July 2009.

The Certificate in Practice Management was developed by MMA in 2003, which has successfully run in the north east since it’s founding. fresh Medical is delighted to be working with Jean Hill (MMA founder and Director) to offer the Certificate in Practice Management course across the UK.
