Agenda
for Change toolkit
Agenda
for Change (AfC) defines the new pay and conditions for all
staff employed within the NHS.
Although
AfC does not apply directly to general practice (except those practices
where staff are employed by the PCO), there are implications for general
practice, for example in the recruitment and retention of staff (who
may be attracted by AfC terms on offer elsewhere). Also as a result
of the introduction of AfC, the Whitley Council pay scales will come
to an end in 2006. Many practices currently use the Whitley scales
and will need to find an alternative.
Whether
you currently use Whitley Council Pay Scales or not, our toolkit explains
in simple, plain English, what AfC means, how it could apply to general
practice, and how to take the parts that most suit your practice.
The toolkit includes information to help you brief the Partners, and
a spreadsheet that will allow you to calculate the costs to your practice
if you decide to embrace AfC.
